Why people go

Kip and Susan Bedell planted their first vines here in 1980, and Kip later became known as “Mr. Merlot.” Bedell is closely tied to the rise of North Fork Merlot, and its 2009 Merlot was served at President Obama’s 2013 Inaugural Luncheon. Bedell is also known for Musée, its flagship red blend, and for artist-designed labels.
